Here we describe our commitments towards Governance, focusing on our 2025 ESG Roadmap commitments. For Royal Smit & Zoon, it’s important that everything we do is built on a strong foundation. The most important commitments are described below.

Achievements

Governance

All incentive programs include ESG targets

Specific job holders, as well as key management positions, already have ESG targets in their incentive programs. Based on the updated 2025 ESG Roadmap, more individuals will be engaged with ESG targets in 2022 which should ultimately lead to all of our team members being engaged in incentive programs.

Royal Smit & Zoon started to collaborate with EcoVadis in 2015 and since then, we were accredited with the SILVER rating. We are very pleased that EcoVadis accredited us with GOLD in 2021, meaning that we belong to the top 7% of companies

audited by EcoVadis. The EcoVadis model focuses on the Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The benchmarking opportunities will guide us for ongoing improvements in the future.

EcoVadis Gold rating rewards our ESG leadership

Our Business Partner Code of Conduct is already in place since 2018 and is part of our Sales Partner Agreements. In 2021, we started piloting the Sales Partner Program with a selection of our agents. The purpose of this program is to ensure that our Sales Partners will understand and be ready

to face the requirements in ESG that Royal Smit & Zoon and the leather value chain are setting. Due to COVID-19 and the fact that traveling was difficult, the pilot program got delayed.
